1 cup butter

¾ cup shortening

2 cups light brown sugar, firmly packed

½ cup granulated sugar

3 eggs

1 ½ teaspoon vanilla

½ teaspoon almond

4 cups flour

2 teaspoon baking soda

1 ¼ teaspoon salt

2 ½ tablespoon culinary matcha


Toffee bits AND/OR semi sweet chocolate chips



Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat together butter (room temperature), shortening, and sugars on medium speed until creamy. Add vanilla, almond, and eggs until mixed well. In separate bowl, combine flour, soda, salt and matcha. (sift if you are feeling frisky). Once dry mixture combined, add to the butter sugar mixture in your mixer until is fully blended. At this time, you can add toffee chips, and /or semi sweet chocolate chips to your preference. Take stick of butter and lightly grease baking sheets. Use a spoon or scoop to make 1 ½ inch balls. Make sure you leave enough room between cooks (like 3 inches). Bake for 11-12 minutes or until LIGHTLY browned. DO NOT over bake!!! Once you pull the cookies out, they will continue cooking on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes. Then pull them off the sheet and let them dry on wire racks to cool. ENJOY!!
